Literary nerds rejoiced when Famous Last Words opened its doors last fall. The book theme can be found throughout, from the décor to the menu and the drinks themselves. Owner Marlene Thorne takes inspiration from all of her favourite novels when creating her unique cocktails.

Instagram went crazy when Figures opened this comic book shop in the front, restaurant in the back establishment earlier year. The cocktails are inspired by classic comic book and folklore characters, including the famous pitch black cocktail – Maleficent.

Jenn Agg opened her much anticipated Kensington Market wine bar, Grey Gardens to critical acclaim. It is safe to say it has an extensive wine list, accompanied by a menu of small plates, noodles and “medium” plates that include aged striploin. Grey Gardens oozes with a cool vibe that seems to follow Agg wherever she goes.
